    Congrats !!!
Used my coupon at work last night-of course I got the "No item sold for this coupon" when scanned. No prob to override, but it sux that sometimes these Internet coupons don't scan & then they scrutinize them like you're a criminal. (I have a story about Dominick's in IL & all the Starkist pouch free coupons-we all cleaned up in that IWG-boy did I raise the roof. I have NEVER been so humiliated redeeming free coupons.)

Sorry to hear about this. I'm glad you were able to get your milk afterall. I dislike using internet coupons sometimes for the same reason. I feel kind of awkward, and a few times at Walmart, the cashier had to go and question the manager if they could accept the coupon or not, even when it says on their website that they do accept them. Your story sounds very interesting. We can all use the freebie coupons we get, with today's crazy economy LOL.

P.S. I have not redeemed my coupon yet. It will be interesting to see what happens...

To make a long story short...
Went to Dominick's (Safeway) one night about 7:30 w/ 3 free Starkist tuna pouch coupons from IWG.The coupons were mailed, the glossy type w/ the "foil" strip across top.The cashier said she had to check w/ her manager because they "beeped when scanned".(The register said " Enter Price") So,over comes a manager...scrutinizes the heck outta them, then says "I'll be right back" & walks to this little office & hands 1 coupon to some other guy & walks out.He then walks over to the bank & is showing my coupons to the bank teller while this other guy in the office sticks his head out & calls a teenage bagger in to look.Meanwhile, there is only the 1 checkout open & 2 ladies behind me,the cashier is reading a mag & they're basically ignoring them. When the 1 lady asked if she could ring up somewhere, the cashier said in a very rude tone"Can't you see that we're all busy dealing with this issue."(didn't seem like there was anyone else working) So,in the end, they wouldn't accept the coupon because as the manager said "he wouldn't want to get in trouble for helping me commit coupon fraud because he has never seen these coupons before" (didn't even say "possibly" helping-I felt basically accused)He also kept 1 of my coupons-wanted me to leave my # so that if it was verified legit they would call me. So,that night I emailed Safeway & rec'd a phone call the next AM.Described scenario,blah,blah,blah...ended up getting a $50 Safeway GC for the whole ordeal. (not my goal,it's that it was a MAJOR customer service screw-up)
Dominick's wasn't my go-to store cuz it was kinda pricey, but it was the closest store to my house & I actually was pretty friendly w/ the girls there during the day,so it wasn't like I was some random drifter-LOL.
The ladies stayed in line the whole time-I would've walked out-I kept apologizing, but they weren't annoyed w/ me.In fact,I gave them both the website addy cuz they wanted to coupon but didn't know where to start !

Wow, what a crazy nightmare. I'm glad to see that Safeway stepped up to the plate, by giving you the $50 Gift Card. You definitely deserved it, after going through that tremendous mess.

Just won my milk too. Used it at Walmart - had issues with free coupons here until I contacted corporate offices. Now they have a sign saying, "we accept free coupons"; not so with local Harvey's - they put one up saying just the opposite. They said they had a MAJOR issue with coupon fraud at that particular store.

Its sad that a few bad apples have to spoil it for the rest of us honest consumers.

Harmon's here is tough on coupons-but the free ones-as long as it says something like"up to $x.xx" they're fine.I had issues there when I had a free Propel 12 pk coupon.Because of the extreme couponers here,Smith's (Kroger) will only take 4 of the same coupon per transaction (no big deal)They are prob the best. The WM by me is wishy washy-depends on the cashier, but if it beeps (even if you have the right product)they sometimes won't take it,or if it won't scan, they usually won't take it.

I agree about the bad apples-especially in this crazy economy,I've always saved us alot at the store (like today at Smith's,saved $53) & I have prices I will & won't pay for things, but I don't go crazy. My employee discount+ coupons really helps too.

I had a problem redeeming my coupon at Walmart last night. The cashier scanned it, and said it wasn't valid. So, she had to get a manager to take care of it. What a pain. It shouldn't be this hard to redeem a coupon, but I understand because of the fraud out there right now. I am just grateful to be able to use the coupon, get my free or discounted product, and be on my way. Without the freebie coupons, or regular coupons I would be lost. I rely heavily on them because of my financial situation, so every bit helps!
